Dad's death-November 25, 2007

Following three weeks of struggle with a systemic infection, Dad went home to Evelyn Street with Mom and the family on Saturday afternoon. On the beautiful winter morning that followed, he passed from the pain and struggle he'd faced recently to reside with God forever, in fulfillment of his decades of faith. The 25th is the date of his mother, Florence Dodican's, birthday. The Porter clan had already gathered from far afield to be with him through his illness. On Sunday they celebrated their love, their belief, and the extraordinary life of a man who had been at the center of it all. This site will host information and images of Dad. It will also allow people, should they choose, to leave comments, stories, memories. We realize that Dad's friends span the world and not all can be with us in Portland this week. Our love and joy in having been privileged to be part of Dad's life goes out to all of you.
